Top tips for thriving as a beginner in ALX software engineering within the tech industry.
INTRODUCTION
In this guide, I will share strategies to help you thrive and excel as a beginner in ALX software engineering. Grab your coffee and join me on this journey to the end.
How to Achieve a Minimum of 100% Success in Every Project
Skim through the resources.
Read the general objectives.
Engage in thorough reading of the resources, and practice on the terminal as you read.
Review the requirements and take appropriate action.
Complete the quiz, ensuring you score at least 80% before reviewing the answers (be honest with yourself).
Open the project and, if there are any unfamiliar terms in the questions, quickly search for their meanings online.
Whiteboard every task and test the code using Code::Blocks or an online C compiler.
If the code works, proceed to write it on your terminal and push it to your GitHub repository. If not, return to the whiteboard, test the code in Code::Blocks, and continue this process until you find a solution to the task.
What to Avoid in the ALX Software Engineering Program
Do not copy code
Avoid becoming reliant on watching solutions for every task. Challenge your brain to develop your own solutions, as this will help your problem-solving skills grow.
Don't focus solely on your scores. Prioritize your learning and personal growth instead.
Refrain from browsing random code snippets for tasks you haven't attempted yet on Slack. Doing so may limit your ability to solve the task in a more effective way than what you've seen.
CONCLUSION
Thank you for reading this blog. Be sure to implement all the strategies mentioned above and witness your success in the program.
